Need to Pay Down Debt? Here’s How
Posted by: | Comments
For would-be buyers of retirement real estate, one of the most common pieces of advice is to pay down debt before seeking a mortgage loan. Now we have advice on the best ways to manage your budget so you can do just that. The tips come from Mechel Glass of CredAbility, guest columnist at the Equifax Personal Finance Blog.
Before you start paying extra toward debt, Glass encourages you to make sure they’re meeting their basic needs, especially the mortgage or rent payment. Soleil Ambassador Program Helps 50+ Buyers Make Tough Decisions

Choosing the right 50+ community is all about receiving proper information. And what better way to learn than by interacting with current residents? This concept led the people at Soleil Laurel Canyon to create an ambassador program in 2009.
The program allows current residents to teach potential homebuyers about life at Soleil. There are currently 14 homeowners who participate in the program, and each is usually paired with a prospect who shares similar interests.
One of the newest ambassadors, Dick Rubant, is excited to be part of such an important program.
“People need to interact with individuals that actually live here,” said Rubant. “I’ve talked to a few prospects that have actually purchased. I’m not saying that they purchased because of me, but I have to think that it didn’t hurt. The sales agents do a great job, but when potential homebuyers can hear from us about the amazing friendships we have formed here, it really makes a difference. This community really is like one big family and I think that really comes across when we speak to potential residents.” Read More→
