Boone Homes Begins Construction on Bridgemont

2010 NARA Retirement Conference in Columbia

On Oct. 20-22 at the Columbia (SC) Metropolitan Convention Center, an unbelievable group of experts in the field of retiree attraction, 55+ marketing and advertising, health and aging trends, 55+ “Boomer and Beyond” building trends and 55+ sales will be speaking to the 11th Annual NARA “Power Tools” Business Conference.
NARA is collaborating on this conference with the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB),and expects an energized, engaged group of attendees to network with and learn from. NAHB has cancelled their popular 50+ Housing Conference for 2010 and are encouraging their members to come to Columbia during NARA week, take some NAHB-endorsed sales and marketing courses and attend NARA. This will make Columbia, SC the “Center of the Boomer Universe”
for Oct. 18-22.

Park Springs Members Participate in Juried Art Show

Earlier this month, Park Springs members got a real treat as they traveled to Stonehurst Place for a juried art show.“All of our artists are excited about the chance to display their artwork at this unique Atlanta bed and breakfast,” said Jennifer Durham, Park Springs’ Activity Coordinator. “This is truly a wonderful opportunity for our Members to show off their artistic talents.”
Soleil Laurel Canyon Veteran’s Club Fundraiser Success

Residents of Soleil Laurel Canyon and their family members gathered in the Soleil clubhouse on Saturday, May 15 for a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser in the name of a good cause. The fundraiser, held by Soleil Laurel Canyon’s Veteran’s Club, raised $2,200 that will help support active military, Veterans and their families throughout Cherokee County and Northwest Georgia areas.
Mementos such as military uniforms and pictures from previous eras of Veterans lined the halls of the clubhouse while Cherokee High School’s Air Force Junior ROTC color guard and drill team performed the Presentation of Colors, Pledge of Allegiance and national anthem. George Bernard, president of Soleil Laurel Canyon’s Veteran’s Club, deemed the event as “outstanding” and praised the outcome as a huge success.
Wii Bowling Competition Held at Park Springs

The competitor steps in front of the lane. With a pull of the trigger he swings his arm back, aims and lets go! That excellent shot earned a “strike” in Wii Bowling!
The DeKalb County Senior Olympics are over, and Park Springs was pleased to host the Wii Bowling portion of the event in their beautiful clubhouse.
Park Springs was the perfect venue for this competition as they have a long standing and exuberant Wii Bowling League in place. Member Floyd Fawcett discovered the joys of Wii Bowling on a vacation with his grandchildren in Virginia and was hooked ever since.
