Park Springs the Chosen Venue for Senior Olympics Wii Bowling

Over the years Wii bowling has grown to be one of the most popular past times at continuing care retirement community, Park Springs in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Boomers come out in droves for the bowling league. Each participant has his or her own “Mii” (Wii personality), custom designed to look as much (or little) as like the player as preferred. Tournaments are held and at the end of the “season” one of the Park Springs Members is declared the winner.

With such a robust league already in place, it’s no wonder that the community was chosen as the venue for the sport’s DeKalb County Senior Olympic games. Park Spring’s member Floyd Fawcett oversees all of the Wii Bowling activities at Park Springs and instituted a Wii bowling league two years ago after playing for the first time with his grandchildren. Cobblestone Health Facility Celebrates 5 Years

Park Springs, a continuing care retirement community in Stone Mountain, is a wonderful place to call home. They offer many times of homes from single-family, to condo, to continuing care in their Cobblestone medical facility.

Cobblestone, Park Spring’s health facility, is celebrating it’s 5th anniversary this year which will be marked with the completion of facility renovation and expansion. When complete, an additional 18 private rooms will be added. In addition, a memory care dining area with prep kitchen, a wandering control system to enhance resident safety and upgrades to rooms, common areas and offices.

Questions Answered on Retiring in Today’s Economy

You may have many questions about retirement involving your will, where to live, what to do about health care and how you’re going to pay for it all. Many Atlanta seniors had their questions answered at Park Springs‘ recent panel discussion.

The discussion was led by three Atlantans well-versed in retirement issues: Ruthann Lacey, one of five elder law attorneys in Georgia; Roger Tutterow, professor of Economics at Mercer University; and John Hunt, president and founder of the New Home Buyer which creates new home reports for the Atlanta area.
